THURSDAY: Caleitc4me Will Help 1000 Families Claim The Cash They’ve Earned
El Nido Family Centers Back-To-School Event In Pacoima
Pacoima, CA: On Thursday, July 26, CalEITC4Me, the statewide outreach program for the California Earned Income Tax Credit (Cal EITC), will join community partners to help prepare families for the new school year. A thousand families are expected to attend this annual event to receive backpacks full of school supplies donated by Kaiser Permanente.
Low-income workers who are eligible for the Cal EITC can claim it at any time during the year; so far 1.4 million Californians have claimed the credit, putting over $300 million back in the pockets of working families to help them afford life’s basic needs – healthcare, food, transportation and housing. CalEITC4Me staff will be on hand providing information and helping families determine if they are eligible.
The event is part of CalEITC4Me’s statewide initiative to reach eligible families through their school, including 10 Backpack Giveaways in Los Angeles County that will involve 10,000 families.
