EAST LOS ANGELES – On Friday, February 3, 2017 the Eastside Tax Coalition, made up by key organizations in East Los Angeles, along with the CalEITC4Me campaign will hold a press conference to announce the launch of a strong education initiative to encourage low income families and individuals to take the money that is theirs! Every year California leaves $2 Billion of unclaimed EITC money on the table. Research suggests outreach around state level EITC’s increase uptake of the Federal EITC. Research also shows children whose families receive a boost in income from EITC perform better in school and have better health

California State Treasurer John Chiang and California State Assembly member Miguel Santiago are confirmed to participate in this announcement.

Taxpayers can visit the CalEITC4me.org (bilingual) website to locate free tax filing services in their community or call 323-604-1950 to make an appointment to have the Eastside Tax Coalition member prepare their taxes.
