The Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) is the most effective anti-poverty tool on record – it’s a cash back tax credit that puts money back into the pockets of working families and individuals. Since California established the Cal EITC in 2015, CalEITC4Me has already helped a combined 2,000,000 families across the state secure $2 billion in California and federal EITC funds.
Due to expanded eligibility in 2019, more Californians will be eligible than ever – an estimated 2,000,000+ will be able to claim the Cal EITC in a single year. We have an incredible opportunity to reach more in one year than ever before and we need your help!

Cal EITC is a cash back tax credit that puts money back into the pockets of California’s working families and individuals. In 2018, more than 1.4 million people claimed the credit, totaling nearly $350 million. Starting this year, California has expanded Cal EITC eligibility to low-income workers aged 18-24 and to individuals aged 65 and older.
Visit CalEITC4Me.org/earn-it to find out if you are eligible to receive thousands more back in your pocket this year with an EITC cash back refund.
Roundtables: Be a co-host of a roundtable in partnership with elected officials and community groups to discuss the Cal EITC and additional public benefits available for our community. CalEITC4Me is aiming to put on 3-5 of these a year around the state. Roundtable discussions will include information and resources on the Cal EITC, the upcoming year and what to expect, discussion on how we can work together to outreach to newly expanded populations and which areas to specifically target.
Workshops/Webinars: Co-host a workshop and/or webinar. These allow our partners and organizations to call in remotely to learn more about the Cal EITC and its impact on the communities of California.
Texting: If your organization has a membership list and staff or volunteers with even an hour of extra time, we’d love to team up with you to text your network. With the help of partner organizations across the state, we have reached over 1 million low-income people via text message in 2018 alone!
Host an Outreach or VITA Tax Prep Event: Be a co-host in conducting numerous VITA Free Tax Preparation events around the state.
Collateral: Distribute printed collateral materials, provided by CalEITC4Me.
Incorporating into website: If you have a web page, we would love to be included in your resources section.

Volunteer Recruitment for VITA: Help recruit volunteers for tax preparation sites.
