Governor Brown sustains CalEITC funding, recognizes as one of ‘the most significant accomplishments of the past four years’

Sacramento (January 10, 2017) – Joseph N. Sanberg, Chair, CalEITC4Me Campaign, issued the following statement regarding the Governor’s Budget:

“We’re pleased that the Governor’s budget reaffirms the significance of the state Earned Income Tax Credit as one of ‘the most significant accomplishment of the past four years.’ Sustained CalEITC funding will bring more economic security to hundreds of thousands of California’s hardest working families. CalEITC makes work pay better for our fellow Californians gripped with economic anxiety and empowers them to better secure their basic needs like food, housing, clothing and transportation,” said Joseph N. Sanberg. “In its first year, CalEITC reinvested hundreds of millions of dollars in local communities and reached nearly 400,000 families, an unprecedented number for a new California economic security program.”
