LOS ANGELES – Golden State Opportunity (GSO) is joining a coalition of nonprofits and foundations working together throughout the state to ensure every California resident is counted in the 2020 U.S. Census. Against the backdrop of uncertainty created by the COVID-19 pandemic, raising awareness of resources to self-respond online and by phone will take on even greater significance when it comes to securing a complete count.

GSO will be leveraging our proven digital outreach and mobile messaging tactics to reach hard-to-count populations in Los Angeles County as well as in several Bay Area counties, providing them with timely and informative messages urging them to complete the census safely from home. In an effort to mitigate the risk of undercounting vulnerable populations, particularly given current guidelines of social distancing, GSO is dedicated to ensuring that no community is overlooked.

With so much at stake, including the federal apportionment of safety net programs and political representation, GSO is proud to utilize our resources to take part in this critical outreach campaign.
